Muonio is surrounded by Finland’s most popular national park: Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park. Muonio is located at approximately 69 degrees latitude, directly under the Aurora Oval, a ring above the Earth’s Geomagnetic North Pole where the Aurora Borealis can be seen. During the Aurora season, you can witness the northern lights at least every other night. We welcome you to Muonio to enjoy nature and the local culture. We do not have crowds. We pride ourselves on being authentic.
