South Iceland, Iceland

About this experience

Dynkur is a majestic waterfall, about 38 m. High in Þjórsá. The river falls from many pedestals in small waterfalls, forming a single waterfall system. There are beautiful shapes, but these tiny waterfalls also create many beautiful rainbows when the sun shines.

Dynkur can be reached from both sides of the river, but it is more accessible to reach it from the east at Búðarháls. The road is signed but only suitable for jeeps and off-road vehicles. It is also an excellent trip to drive down to the waterfall Fagrifoss in the Kaldakvísl canyon on the way.

There are also many other waterfalls to visit in the waterfilled flowing region.
