About this experience

Festiviteten concert house opened in 1914 as the most
beautiful concert hall outside Oslo and Bergen. It continued as Kristiansund's famous Opera House. The city's pride was carved in stone with a touch of national romantic novelism and Art Nouveau style.

The festivities have been a house of multiple activities such as; opera, concerts, theater, wrestling arena, bingo, cinema, arrest cells, courtroom, goldsmiths, worship services and much more.

In 1928, the sensational era began with opera performances in the festival and in the last decades, the Opera Festival is organized every February, a 2 week festival with full-scale opera, operetta and musicals and concerts of various kinds.
