Orcas and Humpback Whales Under The Northern Lights
Northern Norway, NorwayJoin the giants of the seas on part of their fascinating journey, observe orcas and humpback whales up close and be mesmerized by the Northern Lights.
Unique wildlife viewing
The fjords of northern Norway offer fantastic opportunities to observe and photograph the whales up close while fishing. They follow the huge herring streams that have their feeding grounds here in winter. Orcas, humpback whales, sea eagles feast on this seemingly inexhaustible food source. You may even be able to observe "bubblenet feeding", where the whales collectively catch herring in "nets" made of air bubbles.
Respectful animal observation in small groups
There is a maximum of four to six guests per boat, so everyone has enough space. The experienced skippers tell about the behavior of the whales, their travels during the year and the special features of the groups that migrate here.
Fantastic light - long nights - magical northern lights
The unique twilight of the Nordic winter creates enchanting moods in the sky and offers fantastic photo opportunities. The sky changes from yellow-orange to bright pink-purple in good weather, while the clouds conjure up dramatic shape and color effects on overcast days.
On clear nights, the Northern Lights often dance in the sky. You will go in search of the mystical veils right outside your accommodation or from exciting photo spots. This trip can also be booked as a photo tour led by Bernd Nill (here).
