The National Library collects everything that is published in Norway, from manuscripts, books, films, music, TV and radio productions, posters and pamphlets.
The National Library regularly presents their collection in exhibitions, concerts, lectures, readings and guided tours.
The permanent exhibition Enlightened - Views on a Cultural History shows a selection of items that signify important developments in Norwegian public life.
The library’s shop has greeting cards, posters, bags and books.
Kafe Å is decorated with works by Vigeland, Revold and Krohg and has an outdoor seating area with a view of Bygdøy Allé and Frognerveien.
The library is closed on public holidays.
