Building futures for our children

About Slovenian Association of friends of youth

The Slovenian Association of Friends of Youth (SAFY) has been committed since 1954 to promoting the well-being, rights, and development of children and young people in Slovenia. Over the decades, we have grown to become one of Slovenia's most prominent organizations focused on creating a nurturing and supportive environment for the younger generation, ensuring they grow up with equal opportunities and access to education, health, and leisure.

We aim to empower children, young people, and families by advocating for their rights and creating opportunities for personal and social growth. Our vision is a society in which all children are treated equally and given the chance to thrive, regardless of their background or circumstances. Creating an inclusive environment, and ensuring children are heard, protected, and supported.

SAFY focuses on a wide range of programs that aim to protect children’s rights, combat social inequality, and support the development of youth. These projects include after-school programs, summer camps, educational workshops, and initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life for disadvantaged children.

Our activities involve outdoor recreation and educational workshops, which may include environmental awareness as part of broader learning and development efforts. With the summer camps and various workshops often integrating outdoor activities, to foster a connection with nature.

Additionally, we actively work to promote children's voices in policy-making and foster environments where young people can grow into responsible and engaged citizens.
